Pink Princess Philodendron Plants for Sale Online

Pink Princess Philodendron (Philodendron erubescens 'Pink Princess') is an extremely rare tropical house plant known for its pink and green variegated foliage. The species’ natural habitat is the rainforest of Colombia but it has become one of the world’s most popular Philodendron plants, right up there with Split Leaf Philodendron. Prized in the horticultural community for its rare beauty and ease of care, Philodendron erubescens Pink Princess is a trouble-free houseplant with virtually no threat of disease.

Pink Princess Philodendron care is surprisingly simple: allow the soil to dry between waterings, fertilize once a month, give it access to indirect sunlight, and watch it flourish. Philodendron Pink Princess is a shade-loving houseplant that should not be placed in direct sunlight. It can survive under artificial light but the ideal condition is partial shade with access to morning and evening indirect sunlight. If you are not getting as much pink variegation as you would like, move your plant to a shadier spot in your home.

When repotting Philodendron Pink Princess, center the plant in your pot, fill the soil to the top, and firmly tamp down the soil. Give it a good soaking but allow the water to drain completely.

We are often asked how to keep Pink Princess Philodendron pink, but the truth of the matter is that the lack of chlorophyll cannot be sustained. All pink or primarily pink leaves will eventually fade to a darker olive green or black color as the plant matures. If you have a large Philodendron Pink Princess, chances are its foliage is primarily dark with little variegation. If that is the case, you can prune it to make way for new leaf growth.
